Clay Bared, Waxed, Throwing Star Reps Mounted

My E30 is no show car, it bares the scars of 230K DD miles. That said, if I could only keep one car, the E30 would be at the top of the list.

Here's my original build / resto thread: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=210029.

The ride was just too firm for 17" wheels. Colorado's roads are comically bad. I sold the 17's for a set of 15" Throwing Star Reps. The proper solution would be to replace my Bilstein Sport shocks with a proper set of shortened Koni's, but I opted for a more mountain bike "tall tire" solution. The full story is on my blog HERE.

There was an amazing amount of dirt embedded in my paint. It cleaned up pretty good with a thorough clay bar and wax.

Those don't look much like throwing star reps..

      Nice car regardless.

I like your car. Did you just stick the d-force center caps on the throwing star reps, or do they make em?

Car looks good and wheels look good. Can't help but wish the wheels were silver though!

Rims are lost being black. In a silver it would accent the car more. My opinion. For high mileage the car looks good.

Did not notice they were 15" that's why they are slightly off on proportions...thought they were 16's.

The Apex's look good in black in my opinion but I would still run mine in a silver. For track wheels black is the way to go.

                    Thanks guys.

I traded the RGR's to Guten Parts, they might be for sale again. I agree that the RGR's look better, but the ride is so much better on 15's.

The throwing star reps would look great if they were silver. They were powder coated white when I got them. I didn't want to go through the expense of stripping and polishing. In the past I have not been impressed with silver powdercoating. I had just got a set of gloss black Arc-8's for my track car and liked the gloss black a lot in person. It's not for everyone, but I dig it. The D-Force caps came with the wheels and actually look much better than I thought they would. Once I tint it, it'll be fully storm troopered.

The cup holder is a cheap Walmart one with the fin that slides between the seat. I hacked off the fin and screwed it to my console (which was already damaged). Then I inserted two ABS pipe couplers in the cup holes to extend the cup holders, they just fit - no glue.

I actually like the t-star 4 bolt reps, but the black kills it for me.

The yellow on the fogs is just laminx. One is cracked and it actually has prevented the glass from braking out of the housing.

Those E21 recaros are the most comfortable seats I've ever had. Super supportive for when you need it, but comfortable enough to ride in all day. I drove 18 hours straight for two days in a row last summer.
