went and did what everyone else told me not to do, i picked up someone else's project. i traded my 318i for a 318is m52 swap, with TONS of goodies (e36 m3 tranny, clutch, driveshaft, akg obdI, akg motor and tranny mounts, e36 steering rack, tie rods, control arms...
the catch? it needed an alternator. and the interior and ext. trim were removed. car was red and painted alpine white.
what did i find out after the fact?
he deleted the CCV (is there some plus to this i dont know about?)
it needs a new driveshaft, (u-joints clunk) and lsd
major rough idle once it warms up, (mostly when clutch depressed)
tons of bondo on roof
lots of other small things that im honestly not even worried about, im happy this car is in my garage and im excited to see where this road takes me.
so im in the process of possibly re installing the ccv (or am i wasting my time and money?)
and cleaning icv and re-routing wires for a cleaner tuck.
heres a few cell phone pics.
