Project: DD/AutoX toy

Figured I'd post up my new project, 90 325I vert.




Picked it up on 9/11 and quickly realized I had 3 vehicles which were red, white and blue.....MURICAH.

The next day I started to tinker with it. The maintenance indicator was on as well as the oil and brake lights on the message center deal. Got those all sorted out and replaced the rear window in the top. Then I noticed the check engine light came on only at idle. One vacuum line later it's good.

Took it out this weekend for the local AutoX and had a fucking blast in it. Far more fun than my neon! Caught a cone with the passenger fog light and bent the bracket. Bent it back and got it straightened out.



Today my replacement ignition cylinder came in and now it starts with a key! Next up will be replacing the radio with the JVC unit out of the neon and some pioneer speakers I scored on Amazon for a good price.

Looking for suggestion as to what my vanity Euro plate should say. Something hilarious!

H&R race springs and Bilsteins and some 16's with Stickies. Going to start on the audio department tonight! :D

Got the radio out of the neon and got it in the bimmer. I ran new wiring to the speakers and bypassed the factory amp. Still need to finish up hiding the wires.

that creeping thermostat! never understood why it takes to long for the fan to kick in but when you drive a block its already to normal running temp again. great looking car man!

Very cool! Just an FYI, looks like you were running SCCA classing for the autoX you were at, E30's got bumped down to GS, a lot more friendly than DS ;)

Yeah, my gauge is wacky, I'm pretty sure there is a short somewhere. I'll get to that after I get back from Utah, need to get the Jeep ready still.....and thanks, the seats are beat to shit but i'm thinking of getting different seats and harnesses.

Thanks, I had heard that as well. I got destroyed by the WRX's but i'm not even thinking of being competitive right now.

I've got a similar driveway situation, with a 91 318is and an 88 4Runner. We've got all the terrains covered, eh?

Just went to Moab in the Jeep a month ago, I suggest taking the Toyota! I was going to order suspension for the bimmer but I decided to cage the jeep so I'm waiting on that to get back.
