First off I would like to say this is my first real thread that has nothing to do with selling something ;)
Just in May/April of this year I got myself into an 89 325ic in perfect condition. Pictures follow. This is how she sat right before I bought it.
Sitting pretty right in front of my house
This car was great, Guten parts had hooked me up with some great deals on used parts and with some talking to a local e30 specialist/ex co-worker/friend. With some great advice, some good knowledge and some good parts I got the car exactly where I wanted. Man was this a fun car to have especially driving to and from Downtown Manhattan, NY, Vermont, CT and many trips to the beach.
Here are some of the parts I decided to install to make this car a dream to drive, E36 Steering Rack, Some new M Pedals courtesy Guten Parts, Powder coated valve cover, New K&N Air Filter, Used Front Strut Bar, M-tech 1 Steering Wheel, Broadway Rear view Mirror, Miller Chip, New Oil and Filter, Flushed Brake Fluid, Leather E Brake Boot, IS trunk lip (Never installed and A fresh ass detail.
Until just a week ago the car was immaculate. Then this happened.
And this
This as Well
(Yes there is a hole in the gas tank.)
A deer decided to jump across route 22 near the NJP going east and I Should have hit that fucking turd. Long story short I wound up hitting a car in the right lane in order to avoid the deer, which shot me left into the 3ft tall median which my car proceeded to go up on its side doing basically a 50-50 like I was in GTA almost flipping the car over with windows and top down and me in it as well as puncturing the gas tank. After ripping the steering wheel to the right to avoid flipping it skid out in a 360 and came to a screeching halt parked perfectly on the shoulder. No drinking, Speeding or Hoonigans were involved just an average day of driving. Go Figure. A car can be replaced but a life can't.
Right now i'm in the process of dealing with state farm in order to get all i can out of that thing. My plan is to buy the car back and since the interior was just re-done along with a lot of new parts that are still good I will be looking for a decent shell to swap everything into.
Keep an eye out as I am on the verge of a build and this time I am taking no prisoners. I know with the help of this community and past knowledge I will come back better, stronger, and faster. Also I will be parting a lot of the good parts that I don't need such as check panel, dash, cluster, glove box, wind screen, soft top with no holes, hood etc... As soon as I can get the car back to my place I will start a part out thread, as well as updating this thread with pics of the new car and its progress as this will take some time.
If anyone has or knows of someone with a decent rust free shell preferably a 325 i/is/e contact me immediately. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am a full time broke collage student. Thanks for reading guys.
