No I didn't finish it in the end - I sold my project coupe. In a coupe, it'll fit pretty well - the tricky part is just working out a way to secure the rear side bolsters, the rest of it is fairly straight forward, you need to fabricate seat mounts for the backrest to bolt to the bulkhead. The width is very close to the e30 seat. If you're attempting it on a 4-door sedan, I had a look at an e87 hatch seat (as it has the curved seat base like an e30 sedan) and there's really no way to make the side bolsters work. I'm pretty sure you would have to get custom foam side bolsters made to suit the e30.

While I'm here, I've just clocked up 18 years of owning my e30! Have been dallying it again lately with some troubles in the car fleet (I had to replace the valve cover and oil filter housing on the e92 + my wife's Hyundai is having issues).
I have to admit that I far prefer working on the e30 and e36 vs the e92. Here's the N47 engine with front cowel and vanity cover off, and sound insulation removed. The valve cover is underneath all of that, and you need to replace the injector seals while you're there too! Now that I've done it once, it wouldn't be so bad if I were to do it again, but it was pretty daunting first time around.
