Hey guys,
Just figured that since my little 2002 is nearing the end of its m20 swap I should register here incase I had any powertrain questions and what not.
Anyways heres the car, a 1974 2002 I picked up for $1500 two years ago. Only had about 3 months worth of driving (on my days off from working up north) before the handiwork from the previous owner killed off cylinder #4. Basically the airfilter housing bolts werent tightned down and one bolt and washer made it past the car and into the combustion chamber and well yeah that was pretty lame. Needless to say I wanted more power, so I looked into a rebuild for the old M10 and to get about 150hp I would have been close to $5000 rebuilding the engine, putting in a big cam, headwork, etc. I figured that was bs, and being up in Calgary Alberta where the weather changes in a split second, a fuel injected 6 would be the way to go... Anyways, heres some pictures!
First month or so pictures

So when the engine bit the dust I pulled it in the garage and started the journey of the M20 swap...

Had to make some room so I got out the ol angle grinder and started to cut away. Once the swap is done and running, I will be going back the following winter to smooth out the engine bay and repaint it all, its a bit rough looking but it will get tidied up at a later point.

Oh yeah, now thats a bit better

Heres a few goodies that will be going in her when shes a bit closer to being finished

(also have a purge setup aswell)
Fast forward to the other day when I was working on my fender flares (not mounted yet, just cut the fenders and need to touch up a bit of paint on the flares)

So anyways at this point i've tracked down my wiring for the chassis side C101 connection so I should have that done sometime early next week. From there I have to clearance my trans tunnel gap a bit more, fab up a transmission mount and driveshaft bearing mount, aswell as run fuel lines, run power cables, track down the last bit of clutch/transmission crap, order fuel line (what size of high pressure rubber fuel line works with the M20's), fab a rad mount, order hoses and lines for everything, find a throttle cable, mount the powertrain, build a transmission tunnel, fab a battery mount in the trunk, finish my flares, order spacers for the wheels, build my shift linkage from left over e30 and 2002 parts, dye my interior panels black, order an E21 brake master so I can rig up my line lock a bit easier, mount the nitrous (wont run more than a 50 shot til I can sort out timing with an msd unit) and lines, and probably a few other little tidbits I cant remember. Fingers crossed this bitch works!
