    87 325is M-Tech 1 Tribute Conversion Nearly Complete

After accumulating parts for 2 years, the restoration and M-Tech 1 conversion of my 87 325is is almost complete. Our snow is finally melting so I took the car out for some exercise and some photos today.

Still some interior work to do, but I hope to have it done in about a month.

You have a beautiful car! Selling my Mtechnic 1 was one of my least intelligent moments. ;)

Looks amazing. I think Mtech 1 might be my favorite, overall. Perfect 80's styling.

That looks awesome. I'm in the process of building Delphin MT1 car. Just got it back from the body shop and just need to find the time to install the bumpers, skirts, and other goodies. S52 block is going to the machine shop on Friday to get bored out for some custom MM pistons.

The only thing that concerns me is drilling the side skirt mounting holes. Did you make a template or do you have any advice?

So cool, looks great man! It is a lot of work, patience and money to get all the parts for this. I have all the parts minus a damn rear end piece for the passenger side. And I have RZ's as well, or all those Ronal's?

Thanks for all of the appreciation.

Aviator - they are Ronal LS 15x7.5 et25, I gave up looking for the passenger rear bumper cap and found that you can modify a standard euro bumper cap by making 2 strategic cuts with a sharp razor knife followed by grinding away the protruding inner steel spine. Touch-up the metal edge with black paint and no one will be able to tell unless the are on the ground under your car.

5ickride - I did buy a few parts for this car from Levant, but the car has never been to Guten. however! I had my AW2 M-Tech 2 w/tan top at GFest last year.

R.bratton - I worked on the front and rear bumper install But I left the skirts to the body guys who did my paint work. we did have to paint the rockers white because the top edge of the black stone guard was visible above the skirts. The best part about the M-Tech 1 is that the front and rear bumpers spoilers and trim get assembled on a bench and bolted to the car as a single assembly.
