also - why not a stack dash for the e30? it would be correct for the period (and cost more money, adding to the "bling" factor)... i've driven s2k's with the digital tach and i really find it very bad. I've considered that SPA system, and some others that are more than 1k (motec i.e.)... but i changed my mind.... if you are going to rely on that, just use a shift light that is semi sequential... I'd take the ferrari approach with a standard tach and a sequential shift light located somewhere closer to the field of vision. its simply MO, but whatever.
