e39 touring, that is! But still.
Managed to find a manual with only 60k miles. Bought it off a CCA member in Chicago, had The Werk Shop do the rear brakes and install an M5 shift lever. She then went from the shop to central Illinois, then on to Nashville, where I met my dear mother who agreed to drive her down for me. From Nashville back home to GA. The car drives like a dream. I like the stiff setup on my e30, but can attest to the level of comfort provided by the e39.
On Friday, we leave for an extended road trip from GA to CA. Some stops along the way include Asheville, Nashville, Chicago, St. Louis, Austin, Albuquerque, grand canyon, Vegas, and L.A. before our final destination of Monterey. The touring will be earning its namesake in spades!
Hardcover Bentley and zhp shift knob should be here tomorrow!
