    OT -- Sorry, not a BMW =~(

Built for a race where the budget is limited to $2004.
Chevy SBC + 1966 VW Bus = BatVan.

Not many people can say they were walking around their 'engine bay'.

      Very cool.

Is that RHD? I'm nostalgic for the days of stick welding and small blocks in '51 Plymouth coupes. What about springs and shocks - yeah it's got those too!

Not RHD, more center drive. It's a Monte Carlo frame. You sit right over the front cross member with your feet out toward the bumper. The front wheels are at each knee. I was almost DSQ because if it flipped and burned, there's only one door in & out. They rewrote the rules the next year.

            Shit, you built the batvan?

Awesome, still one of the coolest challenge cars out there. Someone needs to figure out how to build a SBC e30 for under 2k. Every e30 I've seen entered in the challenge has been pretty much stock and never stands a chance against a blown Omni or a SBC something.

Dunno. Doesn't matter; the Bus was given away and the drive train is in this. For sale @ $1500.
