Mokin Weet - Finally got an e30!

She's a 1991 318i sedan. It was wrecked about a year ago by a kid who spun it out into a wire fence that seperates the lanes of highway 16 in Denver, NC. I found the car on craigslist and decided to go look at it. I decided it was probably too much for me to handle at the time so I told the guy I would think about it and walked back to the car. My buddy who drove me to look at it asked if I would front him the cash to buy it and that's what we did. After a few months of ownership he lost interest and sold it to a Mexican mechanic friend of his. This guy fixed the taillights/headlights, replaced a few parts, and bondo-ed the huge gashes left in the rear quarters by the wire fence. After realizing he didn't have enough time to enjoy the car he sold it back to my buddy and he held it for a few weeks so that I could buy it. Enough of the non sense, onto some pictures

I will post a decent amount more after I clean it up a bit. Also what's is the best way to meet up with some e30 guys in Charlotte?

Try imgur.com, it's one of the simplest ones and there's no limit.

It's definitely mobile friendly. There's even an app that should make it easier. However it's definitely easiest on a comp imo.

They work but they are just massive I use photobucket for all my picture needs and it seems to work fine.

                BTW Congrats on the car!

Thanks man. I know it's ugly but I didn't want to ruin a clean e30 because I know what's in store for this thing.

Sign up for flickr. It gives you many options for sizes on your photo, and is much easier to use than photobucket or anything.

                          Congrats on the e30 !

Ok got them fixed, they could stand to be a little bigger but it'll work for now.

Haven't gotten much work done to the car recently other than getting some vogtland lowering springs in and striping all of the sound-deading out of the interior. Future plans for this car include a z3 rack and some better tires and wheels to help fight all of the tire roll I have now.

I have a few questions about the car now that I hope some members can help me with. First off:
Upon hard acceleration and hard turns I can smell a faint smell of gasoline. Take into account that the car was wrecked a little while ago by the po. The wreck consisted of the driver hydroplaning and backing the car into a wire fence. One wire went directly through the taillights and cut it's way into the rear quarter panels, one went underneath the car, and the highest wire went up Onto the trunk and damaged the rear pillar. My thoughts are that either the middle wire or lower wire could've damaged something in the fuel system. So what I am asking is what is the best way to find my leak.

Another question I have is why do my taillights stay on. If I depress the brake all the way with my foot it will turn off. Does this mean that I may be low on brake fluid or is there a brake return spring or something that I missed while removing my carpet.
