My V8 Engine Swap

long story short i ended up having to put a new engine in my 99 540iT.
so this is what i did with my leftover engine.

almost done, but functional


once i get into my new house i will finish my plans for this table. i am going to motorize the pistons. i will put a motor where the starter goes (hopefully) and use the leftover timing chain, cut to fit, to drive the crankshaft. this will allow me to flip a switch and watch the pistons go up and down under glass.

without the glass its about 75lbs. i can move it by myself just not very far, more due to size than weight.

there is a V12 in the junk yard i frequent and i am thinking of making that into a table for my living room. i will keep the heads and intake mani's on that one cause its just so sexy.
