    Bimmerfest East 2014

I'll start by saying I'm not sure which section was appropriate to post this in. If it's wrong let me know

So, I made it down to Bimmerfest in MD again this year and figured I'd share some of the stuff I found

    Just arrived, met Ryan

We saw lots of blue at BF this year

    I thought this was neat

    So much blue

    Clean NJ e30 m3

    Bavaria

    Spotted

    Nice rear

    Love it

    Purply

VAC always has nice stuff out.

    Still VAC

    Henna goodness

    Clown shoes

You must appreciate a very clean e30 m3.

Ryan's car made it this year!!

    'Merica. I liked this thing

    Dakar party

    i8

    Lavenderish m4

    The race cars...

    More blue

Boston green? e36. I couldn't get a picture of the outside without people around it. This car was absolutely beautiful. Had magma vader interior too. Tough call but might have been my fav car there

Rock crawler x5 build with custom locking diffs and a 6-speed manual

    Interior of the x5

    My friend's e90 m3 next to my e30

    More of my e30

Some tape holding up my valance. Will be reattaching it properly this week :D

    Goat powered e39!

    mmmm

    Awesome!

The DelMem on the way home

And proof that she made it one in one piece. Sort of. Some mending to follow...

Hopefully some others took some pictures to add to this thread.

What's up with that E30 M3 winning over other setups? My friends had nicer cars (condition wise) but they were not running stock motors.

    Typical stock circle jerk?

Must be a purist thing. Honestly, I didn't catch any of the cars that won any trophies. Was it one of the e30 m3's that I snapped that won?

Which cars were your friends? If you have any pics def post them up. I missed so much of the show because I stopped taking pictures and just started looking.

Motorcepts E30 M3's. One is freshly restored and supercharged and other is a vert with a turbo.

Good pictures. It was fantastic that the rain held off. Some very cool cars there. There seemed to be less vendor presence this year (less inventory brought, less free stuff too). But I'd say just as many (if not more) cars than last year.

          Good times.

I think I did see those, and they were very nice. The SC was an s54 in schwarz right? I got to those after I gave up on pics

100% agreed. I was a little nervous too because I saw maybe 2 BMWs that could have been show-bound on my way down I-95 Saturday morning. I started to wonder if it'd be cancelled when I got there haha We made out like bandits though. The weather and the turnout was great. I think there were more cars because it wasn't 100 degrees with 100% humidity like the year before.

When did you leave? Shit got real rowdy after 3pm... people were doing 30-40+ through the parking lot (including the cops, which really disappointed me)

Heard a big crowd got pepper sprayed, anyone else hear about this too?

Whaaat! I missed that haha I left at 3:15. I did see people starting to drive pretty quick in the parking lot. I'm not surprised though. It's kinda like tailgating all day, but the main event is your drive home. That can't be too safe. I didn't bring beers this year knowing that I wouldn't be staying. I hope everyone made it home okay.

I was there for the burnouts and pepperspray. Much rowdiness indeed. Some "Young Money YOLO" types were doing burnouts in M cars in one corner of the parking lot, one did a burnout that went down to the steel belts in his tires, throwing sparks and taking chunks out of the pavement. Then there was an early model Bronzit Coupe with an LS swap that did a very good one, but he got caught.
As the officer was leaning into the passenger side of th car yelling at the driver, the ~250 person crowd began booing, and chanting "Let him go!" as someone, whether he knew the driver or not is still unclear, opened the trunk, got the screw driver out of the toolkit and removed the plate. He threw it in the trunk and a number of people began to push the car, Just to make it harder for the cop I guess.
An older lady cop came out of nowhere and without any warning sprayed Mace into the faces of everyone pushing the car, and a handful of bystanders behind them. That's when the crowd got VERY rowdy and event organizers started to disperse the crowd, apparently the PD threatened to bring riot guys if the crowd didn't disperse and stop heckling the officers.

Crowd disperses, mostly, I went over to my car to get water bottles to help the kids that got maced. once they can see and breathe again we find the officer that did it and we tried to get her contact information. She refused to give us her badge number or name, just saying over and over "Call the Police department"
Then an older black cop comes from behind her and gets in the face of one of the people asking her for info, "BACK OFF! STEP BACK!" Yelling/spitting in his face. That was pretty funny actually, he just stood his ground and looked the cop right in the face.

Eventually an older cop (Lt?) Came over and got everyones side of the story. I haven't heard yet if the lady cop is going to get a raise or discipline But that was a pretty crazy experience.

We left shortly after, and about 6 or 7 cruisers passed us coming into the lot.

Sounds like it's basically turning (turned?) into a BMW-centric IA.

                        Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

That's why I have a overwhelming hate for cops. They are just ass hole that think becuase they have a badge and night stick they are hard asses. If that cop would have gotten in my face I'd be in jail for sure....

Beats waiting for 1 hour in food and water line, last year sucked.

The BimmerFest organizers are responsible for security, I don't know all of the details but based on the last year they really suck at organizing such a big meet. I would not be surprised if they did zero security training for the cops they rented from the city.

Having random cops patrol a lot with 1000's of cars is a bad idea.

Also that meet should have a strict age limit. 21+ to drive in.
