    First good wash in months...

5 long months of looking at all the grime and shit from winter on my car, hating the way it looks, washing it when the weather broke, only to have it go back to shit the next day. It's been nice all week, so I went out today and gave her a good wash, and even put tire shine on the tires (normally I don't, but I figured why not?) Finally got rid of the nasty fake chrome license plate frame on the rear, been meaning to do that since I bought the car.

She's certainly not looking her best right now, that's for sure. Paint needs a cut & polish, faded trim, borrowed weaves, wavy shrouds, paint missing from the front roundel, and all that chrome, still clinging to the car. But all that's going to change soon. The next pictures I post of this car are going to look quite a bit different. A friend who works as a detailer at the local MB dealership is going to do a full scale detail job on her for next to nothing, and I've got lots of cosmetic upgrades lying around this room, just waiting for me to get done. There's engine work to do, as well, but that's for another thread.

Anyway, snapped this shot just to give y'all a last look before all the work gets done. She's still a good looking car though, no doubt.

I was waiting for that. :D Shit, if Ronal LS came in 16's, I would buy them right now, and that would be the end of it.

No matter though, I love the Borbet's. I can't wait to order my tires on Friday.

The Type E. I got them from Jarvis for a great price, 8mm H&R spacers included. The tires shown aren't on them, I bought just the wheels.

Yeah, for a few weeks, anyway. Pretty soon we get the pollen storm, about a month of yellow pollen all over EVERYTHING. :D

Time to stock up on Benadryl and Claritin D...

Yeep, I wish I could say that my car was that clean. I just washed it yesterday, too...and it looks like shit. I really need to actually wash and wax it though one of these days.

Weaves look good on your car. A guy from e30tech has your Borbets on his
zinno 325is and they actually look pretty good in person.

Nice looking weaves you got there Josh. Don't do it again with another bad rim choice.

I think your car looks alot like mine, except yours is hardtop. Now it will look even more the same since you are about to have the same rims as me. What size did you get? Mine are 14 and i wish they were bigger. I know 16's and 17's have a pretty big lip on them. Youll like the look of them, i know i like mine! The five spoke really makes the car look more modern unlike a weave wheel.

These spacers are hubcentric, as far as I know, I don't need centering rings for them. At least Jarvis didn't tell me I did.

And I gots lotsa mods comin'... :D

Thanks for all the compliments, guys. I agree that the weaves do look good, but they are just too small, even the euro weaves/Ronal LS look good, but I just like the look of 16's. They're the perfect size to look plus sized, but they aren't too big, you still have plenty of tire, and they don't dwarf the brakes. I think a lot of people will probably change their opinion of the wheels once they're on the car.
