It was a classic leave the half eaten dinner on the table with the tv on kind of sprint to the car when the ad went up and the car was available. Lucky for me, I was closest because there were already a few people wanting to buy it & PO had to turn their phone off from all of the interest from the ad. I just got there first.
I planned on doing a few things with whatever e30 I ended up with, but given the all original great condition of the car, I think I'll keep it as close to stock as possible.. or at least use light reversible mods(if any) and only BMW factory parts when possible.
So far I've changed the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, fan, drive belts, radiator hoses, thermostat, oil, air filter, cat converter, fixed the a/c, valve adjustment, fixed the ODO, clayed/buffed/waxed
I plan on throwing on basket weaves, IS skirts, new suspension, motor mounts, distributor cap/rotor, convert to 5 speed, and new speakers and that's about it. Everything else will stay as is to preserve what BMW intended. I'll keep this post updated with progress.
Car is a blast to drive and I'm loving every minute of it. I understand the draw of these awesome cars. I already go to car meets for my other car I've been restoring and am looking forward to throwing some classic BMW meets into the mix. Thanks everybody
Ryan
