    Midwest Member Intro - "ClassE"

I've been on the FB group for awhile, and have used the forums for some information over the course of the last year - and finally decided it's time to actually register for the forums. I know some of you from the WIBimmer forums and FB group I'm sure, but will need some help on the next phase of this project and hope to meet others.

I bought this car from a friend almost exactly a year ago after deciding my MK3 Jetta had to go - and always lusting after an E30. A friend was moving and hadn't driven the car in years, so a deal was struck and the car was towed to my place. All work was done by myself (with lots of help from friends and info from the guys on wibimmers) other then the paint over 6 months last winter. This summer has just been driving and enjoying the car - and looking forward to digging into the bay this winter!!!

If you're interested in following the bay build this winter - hit me up on IG: 1DUMPEDDUB

    PICS:

    As I found it:

LONG list of parts - but here's the quick hitters:

-All maintenance (timing belt, waterpump, ignition, etc...)
-All new Condor bushings throughout (IE camber/toe, entire rear end, motor/trans, sway bar bushings and end links, etc...)
      -CATuned Coils
      -16"x9" Smoothed/color matched CS1's
-Full interior swap to black leather (was grey)

This winters plans are wheel end assemblies (bearings and all new brakes) and a full bay overhaul.

looks like we're on the same boat, my coils are sitting in my trunk as we speak waiting on my brake kit to come in, how do like the catuned coils? by bay overhaul do you mean rebuild, swap, or FI?

I really like the CATuned coils so far! You could literally set the car on the ground if you wanted, bearing quality and camber plates seem too notch, and overall I like the ride quality.

I plan to keep the M20 for at least another summer, so this winter will be a full clean/paint/coat everything, delete LOTS of stuff, etc.... Gotta make it pretty under there!

            Props

At the beginning I was like yawning and then nearly fell off my seat.

It was a double shot of espresso.

You Sir, really put some sweat into that car. Congrats.

I saw your e30 at Dubs in the valley during the summer and it got me motivated to start work on my 92 vert .. I hope mine will be as nice as your someday .. Waiting for the right price on a s54 motor and then it will go to the paint shop for a much needed full respray .. Maybe a color change will be nice ..

Amazing transformation. How do you like the CAtuned Coilovers? Those seem like the bee's knees honestly.

Yes, these are welded in the "super low" position. Better be planning to rock a small tire on a 16" if you're going that route!
