    Picked up a new e30 !!

Picked up a new e30 just this past sunday night. Came across the car through one of my friends; it was her fathers. Car sat for a while on 4 jack stands for roughly 2 years. Went to look at it and i knew it was a solid car. No rust in battery tray, no rust on floor pans, no rust on rockers ect. A few bubbles have just started on the lower quarter panel but will be fixing that within the next few weeks before things get out of hand with it. I picked up the car for $700 with many new parts. The car had a bad head on it, however it was removed off the car. The guy including a rebuilt head, all parts to put it back together ect. Radiator, hoses, wires, rebuilt injectors, ect. Everything including a whole head gasket kit! All for $700! It is a 90 325i convertible. White with a black soft top. Just on monday i started cleaning up the interior. Has black sport seats ect. The paint is really really clean, and the way you see the pictures is basically the way i got it. All i did was rinse it down with a hose. A nice detail will clean her right up! I put the head on and did the timing and head gasket ect. All i have left is to put some coolant in and some misc coolant hoses! Will be finishing it up today, and she will run! Not the best car but what do we think? Good find? A pic up close of paint! Also tires are Like new!

    Thanks!!

I'd say for $700 this was a steal, great find and great save.

I thought it was a good price. Probably more in parts that I got from him, especially the rebuilt head ect. thanks, manual swap coming within a few weeks ;) that was the only downfall but sourcing manual swap parts!

I think you did pretty good for $700. I have a '90 vert as well that cost me more than that. Just a few observations from the pictures. Is the front valence and shield missing or just removed for the picture? Your top may be ok for now but it will definitely need replacing at some point. The inside tension straps are completely worn out and the inside of the top is looking rough and may nor repel water so well. Also I'm wondering about the stain in the carpet on the passengers side. Looks like you may need a heater core.

Congrats on a great purchase. This car should be spic and span in no time!

Don't let anyone do the dukes of hazard into your back seat. Busted my seam that way =( but you're gonna enjoy this vert dude, nice score.

if you look really close at the pix of the rear seat, someone cut the bad leather off the top and reupholstered the upper 5 inches or so. it looks a tiny bit funny but should last a long time this way.

looks to me like you got your hands on a nice car at a very cheap price. you will be stylin' in no time.

i don't know if it fits your budget, but plastic bumpers and a late style front valance will make the car look more sleek and clean.

thanks for the input guys! Yeah the tops leaks very few drops when it rains i noticed. Will be removing the seats and shampooing / cleaning the carpets. Also what would we recommend for a new top? Hows the install? Where to buy one? Also i already have plastic bumpers off a parts car that i have so will get getting those painted and putting ton a late valance with the "is" lip as well! (Also i do have the lip to the valance that is suppose to be on the car, i removed it)

Also in the last picture I posted the top seems to not go behind the seat, so due to that the rear panel part won't clip in.. Referring to the last picture. Want to do a new top but for what I paid can't beat that! Got it all together today for the most part. Wires, coolant, and battery is all that's left!

Yeah, that because the tension straps are toast. Totally normal. Just be sure to change them when you do the top. In the mean time, there is a fix. Check this out...
