I had a rust spot on the bottom of my driver side door on my DS IX. I grinded it down to metal and POR15 treated it. Body putty, primer, paint and clear. I got the paint from a local paint shop. I gave them the color code and they gave me a spray paint can of DS. It took a few coats but it matched up perfectly. If you don't put on enough coats it will be too light and vice versa. So my advice is paint the part near the car so you can compare the color to get it to match.

I've used por-15 on all my e30s. Love that stuff. I need to figure what to do with the massive amounts of rock chips on the front that have turned into little surface rust.

Removed the front bumper to replace the diving board black trim and license plate holder. They were warped and faded so I ordered new ones. Plus I had to bend back the lower valence since it was bent, and added new lip clips and a stock lip I had laying around.

Btw does anyone know how the rear diving board bumpers come off? My plastic ones have two large bolts underneath, but this one doesn't.

Ahhh I love this car! This is the exact car that got me into E30's. My dad has the same exact car/color. His has been his DD for like 12 or 13 years now and it rarely fucks up on him at 260,xxx miles. I definitely want to watch where you go with this because it might be inspiration to never let my dads car go. Beautiful car!

Well fellas I think I'm passing the buck on this one. One of my close friends came by today and he's been wanting to get into the e30 game for a while. I'm selling the car to him for basically what I paid and have put into her. Hopefully he's reading this and signs up on r3v so this thread doesn't die!

Did a little paint touch to the painted area below the kidneys and grills since it was chipped up to all hell and surface rust started forming. Found some Mazda black pearl grapihite which was a very close match to DS, sanded primed and painted it. Also painted the ellipsoid rings and iS lip spoiler using trim paint. Came out better than expected....also have a new hvac bezel and 13-button since the old one is cracked and dim

The rear bumper is a little different on the DB rear bumpers. To take then off you actually have to remove the piston first, then take off the black trim pieces.

It is dumb because on the DB rear bumpers there is no hole in the bumper to gain access to the bolt attached to the pistons that hold it to the frame so you just take the piston out instead.
