Hey guys and gals, on September 20th this year, I bought an 84' eta that had been sitting for over a year, the guy wanted $1500, it had two flat tires, 2 bald tires, dents and dings, enough dirt to start its own desert, and cobwebs for days. I knew from the start that it needed some love, and my plan was to give it plenty of it. Needless to say, I was able to talk him down to $850, and so... It began.

As you can see, it started off it pretty bad shape. After hours of cleaning and scrubbing the interior and exterior, amd throwing on some wheels my e30 was starting to look like a car again :)

Shortly after getting her cleaned up, I started buying things to get my m20 up and running to pass smog... Then the idea hit me, why dump money into this eta motor, when I can get an m30?! And that's exactly what I did.
After a few hours, a breakfast bought for my buddies, and $178 dollars later, I had my m30, gotta love half off day at the junkyard!

This particular m30 though, did not come with a 5 speed transmission, so yet another hunt began to retrieve a tranny, clutch, pressure plate, fork, and pedals with slave cylinder to swap with my automatic. Yet again, a very well spent $180
(No pics of the tranny, but here's a selfie with my buddy Steven under the other e34 535 when we pulled the tranny.

So with getting everything I need for my m30/5 speed swap (aside from a driveshaft) It was time to order lots of THINGS.
Here's a screeny of my spreadsheet:

So things are coming along, just have a huge pile of parts that I have to start throwing in, but before I do that... Guess what time it is? YOU GUESSED IT! BODY WORK TIME!
There are (were) 4 major dents, and here are the progress pictures for that.
The start:

The middle:

And 2 of the 4 major dents complete (others are soon to follow)

To take this car from completely wasted to slowly bringing her back to life is becoming an adventure I'll never forget. My progress is quick and I'm loving every moment of it. I hope you guys enjoyed this (so far) and will check back to see more progress. The last two uploads will be the current status of my m30, and the body on my e30:

Look at that Shwarz shine!!
