Thanks for the photos. Your seats are really interesting - I always thought that Alpinas came with Alpina-trimmed Recaro LS seats, but yours are e30 sport seats with Alpina fabric on them. Can you get some shots of the rear seat and door cards?

Thank you for the updates. They are generous. We are living vicariously through these postings. I am genuinely glad you got this car. It doesnt seem destined for a show room but the open road. Good for you man.
Thanks for cleaning. I am a neat freak. If you are disassembling the car..you could do an awesome concours type detailing job. I recommend Poorboys World products. The natural look has UV inhibitors like more commonly known Aerospace 303. That will bring them back to life, protect your gem and - if you use PB Nat.Look- give it a nice smell.Comment

What a Amazing story.
Did you ever find out why the car was just left in storage for 14 years?
Also how long did your friends Grandfather own it?
Nice Transformation!

Yeah I did wonder about that, but this car is pretty unmolested as it sits, so i wouldn't quite think twice about their authenticity. I went ahead and cleaned a bit for an interior shot for you.

I must admit, I never thought i'd be able to try one out. Pretty excited to see if Top Gear's "accidental" reverse upon launching in that 190E Cosworth can really happen haha.
Thanks man! The seats are SO firm! Leather is amazingly soft. Hell when you close the doors while inside the car you can barely hear any ambient noises outside.
To tell you the truth, I will be the 3rd owner. The PO [ Gramps ] bought the car in... mid 90's IIRC, he had 735i at the time as well that he bought off the showroom floor. Came with gold BBS rims from factory. That car sat for something like 8 or so years before he sold it off, super mint from pics i was shown. no reasons of why either sat, he just had multiple cars to choose from I guess
Yes! I was looking into the Alpina register, never got around to read more into it. I tried registering on the forums, no dice.
Ohh that's gonna be clean! I can't tell you how bad i've wanted an E30 M3, complete dream car aside from an air cool'd 911 Turbo. Friend of mine bought one for ~10k some years back that he beat me to. And i believe 3 have popped up nearby since then, I think Sean Troy picked up the one in Miami a year ago, and there was a red one up for grabs 112k mi garage kept cuper clean in and out $16k sold within ~13 hours few weeks ago. I was 5 hours late from seeing the posting :( ..But I guess this can make up for that. Here's my build thread:

They come and they go so quickly! Ya I still feel like it's too good to be true. I've been ordering up parts and can't wait to get them installed haha, I bet you know how I feel.
In your case, it's just a good (or better) than having an m3. A lot more rare in any case.Comment

awesome, thanks for the shot. I wasn't doubting their originality, they look really well done. Was mostly curious to learn more about Alpinas!Comment

Are you sure the interior is original? I only ask because it has black leather rear cards but front hounds tooth door cards, that doesn't seem factory to me. None the less, it is a beautiful car.How to remove, install or convert to pop out windows

wow - you done hit the JACKPOT.
Well done - glad you are bringing her back with patience.
honestly - I like the color it is painted more than the shade underneath it - that blue metallic looks crazy cool.
Can't wait for updates.
LOVE the beefy tires too - please keep it that way!91 DS S52 Slicktop, 91 Calypso M42, 89 Royalblau M20, 84 Bahama Beige 323i, M535, Euro e24, ap1

You and me both! Can't believe the amount of limited info.
I'm sure you can, just waiting for an admin for a reply. I've even sent an email without response.
I don't think the door cards are houndstooth, but would make sense. I'll get a close up maybe tomorrow to show, don't think i have a decent photo of them.
Not that this show's tidbits on the car, at least you can see what it came with from factory: Click Me
Yeah the current paint is killer! I just wonder if it'd be more sensible to put it back to OE or keep it the same/inbetween the two.wow - you done hit the JACKPOT.

The tires will definitely stay beefy.
If you or anyone knows where i can find a nice pair of 16x8, would be much appreciative. I'm looking to throw 225's on the back! :Dsigpic
