    It rolls!

Inoperable for 1 year now, and on jackstands for 8 months.

Today was a major milestone that it's on the ground. Every stupid little piece in the front suspension is new. No old nut or bolt was reused.

I rolled it out today to clean out the cobwebs formed under the car, and to hose the dust off of her...she was feeling a little claustrophobic.

Now I just need to find a place to build the engine when i get back from Europe.

Way to stick with a project...

And I'm trying to think of a way to bust your balls... ummm... "ultimate light weight kit" or "fred flinstone mod ftw!!!11!!1". Best I could come up with at the moment.

When is it going to be able to roll without some asshole pushing it?

                      Thanks for the props, guys.

To answer a couple fo the questions:

nice ride, what wheels and rubber are you running
                      18" Ro_Ja Formula 7s on 215/35 Yoko Paradas

IIRC, there's an S/M50 going in.
Yup, S50. Head is/will be fully worked. Stanless valves, Ti retainers, Schricks, non-conical valve springs, port/polished head, Euro HFM, Turner chip, lightened flywheel, Spec clutch, and I'm sure some more things I'm forgetting. Basically, the only things I have left to purchase are the Schricks, 24lb injectors, clutch, and an exhaust. The motor I'm piecing together from scratch, I must have parts from 10 different cars. Bimmerforums is a great resource for S50 parts.

Here's a bonus pic of the new G-C shortened konis.

Sweet! You painted your strut assemblies red?? That's an awesome idea! lol Maybe I should do mine yellow?? ;)

I think it's awesome that you have NO engine...but the front of your car is still lower than mostly ALL e30s with STOCK suspension.

can't wait to see it finished!

                        lol

heh heh. :) Actually G-C powder coated them red. I was very pleased with the work, especially the added reinforcement at the hub (which required creative dremeling of the ABS sensor insulation), and the added M3 sway bar attach points.

The ride height is actually as high as it will go. It's still got about another 2.5 inches lower it can go........after the engine is in there. But that's not really what I'm going for. :)

Looks great, Brandon. I tried to take my part in the conversion, so much for that.

Seems like it will be 2048 before I can get another one going too.
