    San Diego Clean Car Contest

Took some pics at yesterdays event. There were a lot of super nice rides there. The following is my white cabby and my buddy's e28 M5 that he just finished a total restore on, it came out awesome. His e28 is parked next to "The" Dinan M5 (Roundel cover, in Car & driver, etc) I got to drive it Sat night.... hands down the most powerful, fastest, well mannered, kickass car I have driven.

I love the euro bumpers on this US M5

I like the white cabrio. Ive seen that red Dinan ///M5 at the SD Auto Xs, holy fuckballz it sounds like a beast. ANd E28 ///M5s will always be in my heart. I will own one. I like it almost as much as the E30 ///M.

I met the guy with euro bumpers, but don't remember his name. (Older guy, probably late 40's early 50's with Tom Selleck mustache.) The car with the US bumpers belongs to my friend Todd.

Yep, that's the right side of the old e28 parked just to the left of my car. You should have seen the clear coat issues he had going on on the left side of his car. It was still "clean" I guess

Hey cab, how do you like those rims, quality and weight, bends? Are they the knock offs or the real thing?

I love 'em. They are knock offs. I've had 'em about a year, no bends,..no issues. They still look totally new (knock on wood, watch I'll curb one at the Wendy's drive-through tomorrow) As for weight, I don't know exactly, but they don't seem that heavy. I was about to order some Alpina Kopis and then saw these on ebay. I like the look of them and the open design makes them really easy to keep completely clean (front & back). Bought them on a Monday, had them Wed morning, tires on and mounted Wed night. Some wheel shop in Northridge, CA. Just search "e30 rims" on ebay they'll pop up for like $545. You can get grey or black centers, too.
P.S. They are a really good knock off of the SSR GT3 (but the smallest they come is 18" I believe) I've parked right next to the real thing and they are identical.
