    back from the shop

Took some quick shots today since it was about to rain. I picked the car up on friday. I know, it needs to be lowered. More to come...promise.

What do ya'll think, tint or no tint?

If you plan on leaving the hardtop on for extended periods then I say light tint on the side windows. I'm not a fan of converts with tinted side windows and the clear plastic rear. You must have a black soft top, I'd look into a smoked back plastic window. I'm sure it's possible, I see jeep soft tops with the "tinted" plastic windows. I'd look into it myself, but I've got a blue top....I don't want that many colors going on.

Tint cheapens the look of a car dramatically IMHO. If you absolutely must tint the windows use a less noticable tint like huper optik. This car looks like it will be particularly sloppy looking with tint. If you tint the rear side windows, then you will obviously want to tint the door windows and the small A pillar windows. Now imagine the car with the top down, and the windows down...the triangle of tint will still be there and it will look very out of place.

Looks great! Rear bumper looks flawless from those pics.

Rims defintely need to go though...And I also like what Ryan did with his gloss black hardtop...

No tint, I agree that it sorta cheapens the look of the car.

                thanks. thats a excellent point.

                Whats huper optik?

Is the blueish windows I see on mercedez a form of tint? I think that would look nice.

Huper Optik is a ceramic based German tint that is often used in houses and higher end automotive tinting. What you saw on a mercedes could likely be it. I had it on my last car and I would describe it as being a slightly milky looking reflective coat. Of the tints it allows the least amount of heat through while allowing most light through. What you end up with is a cool car that you can see out of at night. It's expensive though, and there are a lot of knock off brands out there. For the real thing expect to pay about 50% more than your typical high quality tint.
Here is a website with more details- http://www.huperoptik.com/

I really don't agree with the whole tint cheapens the look of the car thing. I will say that some cars look much better but some cars pull it off and it looks awesome. To each his own, personal preference, yada yada yada.

Looks uncanny to mine!! Nice score, looks like a clean car.
I say tint it- it will look like this:

That is 50% sides with 20% rear on hardtop. I will get the soft top window tinted aswell.
See my whole photo album if you want to see how the car can look with different mods, I have been busy with mine over the last 2 weeks of initial ownership...
