    First E30

Couldn't be happier to have found this E30! This will be my first BMW, I'm coming from a background of no real allegiance to brand or area (have had Eclipse, Civic, Sentra, Saab, and currently an Outback) so this is going to be a second car/summer car.

I found this 89 325is just a few hours after the craigslist post came online, checked it out, and picking it up tonight! Some of the work/parts: value adjustment, new gas tank, bilstein shocks and struts, Bavarian autosport springs, sway bar, projectors, short shifter, skid plate, electric fan, radiator, remus catback, custom intake, radio... Also with the car I am purchasing a set of 15" D Force wheels from the owner. Very limited rust, so the only real draw backs are the seats are in rough shape and it has 266K miles.

Since I've been looking for the past few months for the right car, I'm very excited as I am seeing how difficult a good E30 is to come by. Picking up the car tonight so I will post more pictures... For now, a side shot and a picture of the car.

Got it home, needs a thorough cleaning but for now, I'm just happy to be an e30 owner! A few shots as it sits, hopefully will look better and better as time goes on!

Looks a lot better after cleanup?

You're relatively local to me. Any progress / work done?

I have the same set up... Winter DD is an Subaru, Summer DD is a BMW.

                Good combo

So I don't have a whole love of experience but last week I began my project. The goal by September is to have the car repainted estoril blue and and a new interior by ninestitch. Started last week and have the car almost all torn apart. Since the car is black and this not be a show car, I am going to paint everything that will been except for the engine bay. Comments and suggestions appreciated!

Still working, just got new fenders (took a gamble with eBay) and just ordered my paint gun from eastwood today. Planning on sanding through 400, epoxy primer, color, then wet sand, the clear. Because of limited room and experience I'm planning on painting the car apart as itClick image for larger version

Got the tar out of the trunk, probably going to pull it from the floors of the driver and passenger too

Also working on the holes from the battery tray. Should have had it welded but it was in such a tough spot, I put in a small piece of sheet metal and bondo on the inside and out. It won't last forever but in the mean time it should be alright

Hopefully should finish sanding this week. Got supplies for a paint booth. 2x4s and plastic only ran me about $50.
Paint gun from Eastwood is on its way!
