just picked up my first e30...

so this may be my first e30 but ive had a few bmw's before (e36m3 and e46m3) i actually just sold my 996tt since i really dont drive much but i figured i should have something kicking around for the weekends...

    i bought an 89 325is with an s52/obd1 conversion...(from seattle, i live in SoCal)

so i flew out sat morning from san diego to start the adventure.

landed at SeaTac and drove 45 min north to pick it up

    now the drive home...

    fuel stop glamour shots

    lunch.

    another pit stop.

    chassis rolled 175k that night

    more fuel...

caught a few z's then hit the road again before the sun came up

so early and way too goddamn bright

anyway my time isnt very impressive but i did 13XX miles in 23 hours.

here are a few other shots of the car...

Is that true...4200 rpm at 80 mph? Your ears must be ringing after 1300 miles.

              Nice car. Welcome.

4200rpm at 80mph is pretty high. What's the diff ratio? 4.10?

                      Cool tats breh.

You should probably look into the check lights on the upper cluster.

upper cluster lights are engine oil (e34 pan and pickup) and sometimes the rear lights.

whenever i check the tails they always seem to work though. i havent done any searching about it but is there a way to adapt the e34 stuff to the e30 check cluster so that engine oil light goes out?

there has to be. this swap is nothing new but I'm sure after some digging you'll find the answer in the swap threads

Not only am i jealous of you picking up such a nice e30 but, i'm also jealous of your ability to really enjoy your purchase with that fun drive back.

So how far, how does the e30 stack against your old e36 and e46?
