an ls1 swap is going to cost you a lot more than $3800 unless you get scrap metal for free and are a great fabricator. 6-speed tranny's for those motors generally go for over $1k, not to mention the custom mounting parts and engine management. I hope you plan on upgrading your brakes too.
the 3800 is after i subtract a bunch of shit im selling from the car. I am getting almost all the rebuild shit for free. I will be doin all the fab work myself (Which isnt very much, just some motor mounts and trans mounts and exhaust.) minus the custom driveshaft. Im building the motor myself too. The brakes will be upgraded to wilwood calipers and corrado rotors and the rims will most likely go in favor of some 16 or 15 inch rims. I will update as i progress. right now im in search of a crank, rods, pistons, and heads. the oilpan should be on its way to me by tommorow too!
LS7 into E30 would be good. Complete C6 Z06 would be far better, though.
no, the northstar is a completely different engine. All the gen III chevy small block engine blocks are the same size and shape and can interchange parts between one another. The main differences between the different gen III engines is the bore and stroke, giving you the different displacements. Also the majority of the truck engines are cast iron blocks as opposed to aluminum like mine!
