    The names behind e30's

My first introduction to car's names was when I saw the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" and I thought it was creative and evoking. Then I got my first E30 which got me into reading forums and the window to the world of cars opened up and along the way the connection with women's names. And I love women, I often think I must have been a lesbian in my previous life. For me the vertices created by the connection between cars and women's names is as real as it gets for men. It evokes mistery, passion, humor, or simply sends one's mind and curiosity into the next gear.

Along some great project built threads I've met Alice from "jeffnhiscars", Lambo's Stella, and just recently I read about Siobhan. Just beautiful names. That kept me thinking about what's the story behind all those names and I'm sure there will be all very cool, sweet, interesting, entertaining, and evoking stories. I searched the forum but could not find a thread on this topic, and maybe the story behind each name is something to be kept for ourselves, but if there is one, well ... as noobie as noobie is.

So here I am, throwing the question for the delight, amusement, curiosity, etc, etc, of all members.

What' the story behind your E30's name?:devil:

I remember a thread like this last year. Personally I think it's a teenage girl thing to name your car. But that's just my thought on it, I do know others name theirs though.

we call our cars by their colors. White beams, red beams, blue beams, just so we know what e30 we need the keys for that day. but i agree with you, naming your car seems childish.
      Much wow

For some reason I don't name my cars. But if someone comes up with a name and it seems to fit, then I'll run with it. Otherwise I'm like Cabriolet, call them by color or how many doors, or vert.

I never understood naming cars, particularly women's names. I 'named' my first car but it always felt awkward and forced. Whenever I see someone has named their car some woman's name it makes me cringe. Seems so juvenile.

Everyone talking the trash but you know they are calling their car a nice little cute name as soon as they see it.

I just refer to my car as "Henna". the SE30 has the name Christine because the PO said it was the car that never died (and seeing it when we got it, i dont know how survived as long as it did till the TB broke). I was going to name my car, but it just didn't feel right. Like chad said, it felt forced.

I don't really name my cars but I've been referring to mine as Scrambles, the Death Dealer . . . because reasons.

I think it was my thread you are referring to Jason. I have not named either of my cars officially. Red car my wife refers to as "the red car." My brother named my "white trash" because it needed a lot of work.
