    1991 316i

After two years without E30 I'm finally back where I belong.

I sold my 1994 E30 318i touring to a friend of mine, and it's still sitting in my shop without engine and trans. So I've had to look at it for a long time, and I really missed the E30's so this spring I started looking for a new one.
    Criterias were: 2-door, sunroof, facelift.

There were no cars that fit my bill in my price range in Norway, so after a bit of searching, I found my new car in Sweden. I bought it unseen and had it transported home, and I was not disappointed!

The original owner was a 90 year old lady. She never drove the car in the winter, and she took great care of it.

Even though it's a Scandinavian car, there is no rust on it, except a small bubble in the RL wheel arch, and under the washer fluid container. She never washed the engine in fear of breaking something, so I had to spend a couple of hours cleaning.

As for my plans with the car, I already lowered it, and I will put some nice wheels on it.
I will also try to source rare optional equipment. I've already fitted a map light mirror I had from another E30.
It will also need a new diff, as the one on the car is noisy, even with fresh oil.
I replaced the clutch and mounted a short shifter.

These pictures are before I lowered it. I'll take some new pictures next time the sun is out.

        Thanks, guys!

I only have a stereo blanking plate. There is no harness or anything behind it, so I need to put in wires, and everything myself. I can't say that I'm looking forward to it, but I need to do it. Only thing I hear now is the whining from the diff.

        Interior pics

Essentially I'd like to swap the seats out for some sport seats, but they are 11/10 condition. They are still firm and there is no damage to the interior what so ever.

Also, it's kind of weird. The car is white, which is the cheapest option, but it has painted bumpers and mirrors which were extra on the 316, and it has a tacho, which was extra, original shadow line and it does not have the 316 HVAC panel, because she wanted the euro clock.
Other than that it has heated seats, manual windows and manual sun roof.

I'm considering buying Borbet A's. 16x9 all around. I didn't know you could still get them new, but apparantly you can!

Nice car! You planning to stick with the engine it has now or going to be doing a build thread for this one now? It's currently an M10 in there yeah?
            The fun never ends :-?

That would be an M40b16, I think a simple boosted M42 would be a nice sleeper.

Very nice clean car, cars like these are fetching good money these days.

                Yes, it's an M40B16.
I was playing with the idea of a boosted M42, but there's two things thats stopping me atm.
First of all, the car is in so good condition, and its all original, so I feel like it would be a shame to change it. It has 124000km's on the clock now.

Second thing is that it needs to have been in Norway for at least 10 years for me to convert it without paying horsepower tax....

That being said, I am going to pick up an M42 next weekend. We'll see what happens :)
