I picked up this sedan about two weeks ago it's my third E30 and second 318i, my first being a slicktop 318is.
Hopefully soon I'll have a chance to go take some good photos with a DSLR instead of these cell shots.
The craigslist ad only said 91 BMW. Due to the hubcaps I had a hunch it was a 318i so I called him up and got a brief description and then headed over to see it. When I showed up I noticed the paint was super chalky and it had clay stains under the trim and license plates. After i started actually looking at it I started to realize a good bit of potential here. Rust free, 119k miles, one owner(kinda), bone stock down to the head unit and ice cold A/C. I took it for a quick drive and promptly brought it home.

How it sat when I pulled up.

Taken once I got home, as you can see everything was just looking kinda crusty.

So dirty.

So so dirty.

It came with all the books including some brochures and the window sticker.
i've got a problem
Attempted a full paint correction with Griot's Complete compound applied by hand and then meguiars polish, finished with nu finish paste. It came out pretty damn good. The car has a pretty nice patina, it fits the age but is still clean. Took it out the next day and snapped the waterpump belt and got stranded. Oh well, that's what I get for not changing the old belts. Here's some pics of the freshly worked paint while I waited for the tow truck. I also painted the sealed highbeams and grills because I couldn't help myself.

Changed the belts that night. The engine bay is in need of a good scrubbing.
might not be everyone's cup of tea but just for fun here's a picture of my 82 320is. it has a M20B27 awaiting the 731 head and I.E headers sitting in my garage.
