Black Betty - E30 318is on Chrome 16"s! - Build thread, updates as we go!

    Hey guys ;)
    here's my "black betty"

The pics are from when I bought her, 1 month ago. Since then the engine has been revised, filter exchange, cleaning of cooling system etc. Also fixed the cabin lights that were not working, I changed the interior carpets for some rubber carpets i cut myself. I also painted the horn black (was red, and showing through the kidney), smoked turn signals, new tires and new symbols for the wheel centers (which were in the meantime stolen :rippedoff: )

To Do in the near future: fix the left beam (electric problem), get some bulbs for the front turn signals in orange, put the vogtland springs that are already on the way, new 16" rims , new suspension, remove this spoiler and put another to my liking, Magnaflow muffler, resonator, fix the paint or paint it Jet black, limited slip (what options do I have to do this?), cold air intake and chip. Let's see if i'll need a skid plate with the vogtlands

More things are on the list, but it takes more tim€€€

    Cheers :)

Nice looking car. I love the interior fabric.

Unless your trunk is full of dead bodies, it looks like the rear end is sitting lower than stock. Have you checked to see if they are stock or aftermarket springs back there?

      Thanks!

Yeah, i don't know what was up in those pics. The car was on an incline so maybe that was it. The car doesn't look like that normally... Either way, new springs are coming. Also i intend to get drop hats if the front still sits too high. And maybe remove the spare tire and change it for a patch tire kit

Confortable, but a bit rigid. I did notice that the back was softer than the front, but nothing to worry about, you only notice it in bumps and such

Here they are after 2 weeks or so:

Clearance is about 1/1 and a half finger on the front, and half a/1 finger in the back
