Hey R3v, well I wasn't going to do it but I'm getting bored just making for sale threads, a thread for this beautiful thing! Don't get this mixed up with the little 318i Convertible I just sold last month for a steal of a deal, this is a completely different color :D
I'll start off on how I started my Mtech 2 Thread, how I stumbled across the ad. on Craigslist. I was actually suppose to see a 1 owner 89' 325i on Saturday, but after seeing the listing on this convertible on Thursday night (Two days before the appointment for the red one) I decided to give the guy a call and see what it was all about. Did I mention the ad. was only listed for 38 minutes? I asked the normal questions, if the ODO works, hows the dash, any leaks, so on so forth. Sounded like it was worth the drive out and I sure think it was. I was actually late for work for this one but the boss was OK with it.
It was the fellows wife's car, garaged since day 1 according to them, and had owned it since 97' I have ALL 23 years of maintenance, including the receipts for the warranty claims, all 3 keys, owners manual, all matching VIN panels. Very nice people, in fact they just had the thermostat and coolant replaced two days before I bought the car just to be up to date for the most part on maintenance! Paints in decent shape, pictures make it look a lot better but there's no clear coat peal (if you took the time to read this far and know the answer, let me know if Schwarz is single or clear coated please), back window was replaced a couple years back, surprisingly its the original BMW top in great shape. There's some scratch's around the door handle area, which I was a little stumped on how someone can scratch up that area so much but my neighbor brought up a great point, her finger nails probably did the damage. Hopefully if the paint is in fact 1 stage, it'll rub right out.
So far the plans are to diagnose some minor oil leaks, change the 8 year old timing belt I had my Dad drive back in, water pump, spark plugs, that good old stuff. Might even call a paint-less dent guy out to remove 3 small dents. Glad to finally own another M20 convertible to say the least.
It started raining by the time I got off work, and hasn't stopped since so not many pics to share but still, onto the pics!
