So let me get this straight so I'm not missing anything..... I have owned 7 e30's. I wait and wait for one to come around that i want to buy and out of necessity I buy a VW as a 2nd car instead of an e30. I spend my money (that I make off of selling euro parts) on modding my Neon.

I'm sorry, but what does that have to do with anything? I think that statement can be applied to every single car ever built and their owners (save for very purpose-built cars), and I don't even think it's a bad thing. Even if that statement held water...it's not like what you're doing was the intention of the 'originators of the Neon'.

I think it's great that you love your car, and to repeat what thousands of other people say, I think the SRT's are an incredible bang for the buck. I just think it's unnecessary that you get defensive when a bunch of e30 owners say they don't like it (like you expected them to in the first place?).

Interesting car. While I don't see a Neon as a good car, regardless of what country you're in, I do see the appeal of having an obscure foreign car that not many people. I respect your style, as long as you like it, it's pretty cool.

In that statement I didn't mean BMW as he company.... mainly Germans. Example.... I went to buy some euroweaves for a customer I had. My parts supplier asked me why I wanted those wheels. When I explained that american's are purists when it comes to e30's, he asked me if I was crazy. He has all kinds of parts that would never sell on these forums. But these parts are all over the place over here. Germans take their e30's seriously. American's take them as BMW's. Owning an e30 has completely changed the way I look at German cars.

Germans take driving very seriously. The high speeds affect cars differently. Like how a stroker motor with stock 2.7L lower end would work in the states.... not over here. Doing 120mph for long stretches of time would kill a stroker..

Same concept with car parts. 120mph puts a lot of stress on items. Carbon fiber hoods are an example. So its very very hard to get a carbon fiber hood as a German. I'm exempt to most of the German laws since I'm American.

what difference does a car's engine make for handling? a 318i is light and rwd. that right there is a pretty good combo

purchasing a m10 for great gas mileage, and a fun twisty car has brought me here and has had a diverse exposure to many things, like the political views around here.... but one thing for certain I've seen in many car scenes is dropping money on your car may buy you "respect" online or at shows, but can never buy you class.... something you seem to be severely lacking
