anyone with drifting experience should be able to chime in here and say how hard it is in the beginning to catch the rear end and hold it out in a transition without spinning out.

I agree. Especially without suspension.

I'm inexperienced and uninformed, but for what it's worth, I've run 195 all seasons all around and much prefer having grippy 205s in the front per a suggestion from someone better than I.

P.S. Are we finally having an intelligent and uninterrupted conversation about drifting?
