i LOVE e60 5 series... very nice car. Someday i'll look into an e60 m5... but even though the stats on that new m5 are impressive, something just cannot pull me away from the e39 m5's.... they're all good cars, you can't go wrong. good buy.

If I kept the E30 325is and E36 M3, I would have 5 cars with 2 garage space...way many cars to maintain. The reason I got the E60 over the E39 M5 is warrenty...I was just sick and tired of having problems with old bimmers, too many problem, too little time to attend to them...sometimes you just gotta move on...it was fun owning 2 BMW legends...

The E60 is very refined...up-to-date with technology and drives like no others...definitely better than E-class or GS lexus...

If I were buying a car to keep a long time, I'd definately buy an E39 M5 over an E60 M5. There's way too many electronics stuffed in the E60 M5 than the E39; I can't even imagine maintaining the new M5 twenty years from now.

Are you planning on doing anything to the E60, or leave it alone for the warranty?

how many of you have driven both cars before making your choices?

i have.
e39 m5 is fast. torque everywhere.
e60 545 stick. as fast. less torque.
the new cars have a great feeling to them, m5 gives the baller status, but this car is fucking great, and i'd be equally pumped about either car, in my mind they're equal.

545 drives way too numb. I hate my Dad's, and as a testament, he drives my E30 whenever I'm at home, and leaves his E60 for me to tool around in.
