    My new '88 M3 (hopefully)

This is all agreed to in principal, with a few details to be worked out, but with a little luck, I'll have this home in about 2 weeks. Details to follow later, but the quick and dirty is that is has 134k well maintained miles on it. The engine will of course need some attention (to clean it up), and there is a small rust spot next to the battery that needs some TLC as well. Comes with 14 rims and tires (4 17" shown, 6 Kosei K1's with 4 Kumho DOT-R and 2 Hoosiers, and 4 stockers with regular tires) and a ton of spares. This is primarily going to be a track car, with some weekend use when the weather is right. I'll get more once the deal closes.

don't you mean "check your street..."
I wish my car got to sit in a garage... soon enough though.

hahaha, nice Mgold. Well, instead of paraphrasing, here's the whole ad:

Well, as much as I don't want to do it, I'm spread too thin and someting has to go... my E30 M3 is up for sale. 1988 BMW M3 - Lachssilber (salmon silver), black leather interior VIN WBSAK0308J2195791 135k miles Virginia car, I'm the third owner and have put 40k miles on the car. No winters. I have maintenance documentation back to approx 35k miles. Items replaced within last 5k miles: ZF factory remanufactured steering rack; Supersprint SS cat-back exhaust; BMW factory waterpump; Ground Control HD rear shock tower mounts; OEM M3 engine mounts; BMW windshield; Interstate MT-91 battery; Coil, cap and rotor; front brake rotors Items repaired or replaced since I've had the car: - Idle control valve, - Fuel pressure regulator, - Speedometer, - Dinan intake manifold leak fix kit installed, - Belts (engine), Other items of note: - H&R Sport springs, Bilstein Sport dampers, - Aluminum control arms, offset control arm bushings, - Offset BMW strutmount bearings (increased camber), - Strut tubes reinforced at anti-sway bar points, - Bimmerworld brake duct kit - have additional undertray, flanges and clamps for removeable configuration, - Sparco strut tower brace, - ITG air filter, Magnecor plug wires, - Earl's SS braided brake lines, - Evo intake tube, Evo tow hook covers painted to match car, - Upgraded timing chain tensioner (E36 M3 version- not yet installed), - Two typical M3 corrosion points (under windshield, above license plate lights) were repaired by competent body shop before significant progression. Spares: original DME (computer) with Dinan chip, Front wheel bearings, alternator, relays, coil, Six (6) Kosei K1 wheels with R compound tires, Radiator hose kit, I'm sure I've got some other stuff on the shelf, This car is an absolute blast to drive and has been extremeley reliable. As any E30 M3 owner will tell you, these are special cars. It still humbles much newer cars at the track, and still turns heads on the street. Be ready for the upcoming driver school season.

I am picking it up for the nice round number of $9k, which I think is a good deal. There are more spares then he listed, and seemingly, everything works. The suspension is H&R with Blisteins, and I *think* he has the ST bars uninstalled. The front is already reinforced, and he has the rear reinforcements as well. The rear wing on the car is shot pretty bad, and he has another one that is better, but still not great. I will probably end up leaving that for next winter. The car rides tight, and I will be replacing the Dinan with a Jim C.

What are good exhausts for an M3? The Supersprint just isnt my bag.

Ryan, I probably will be in touch with questions, in fact, what tires are you running in what size? I am going to have to pick up a set.

              Thats it for now:

              Will

I am running Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's in 245/35/17. This is the best size for 17's as you get a ton of rubber on the ground with the exact rolling diameter of stock tires.
These goodyears are now discontinued, but you can get some 235/40/17's that will be nice and have a softer ride.

                  We will be in touch!

I saw his ad of the SIG for that car last week, sounds pretty nice!

Two tracks less than hour 3/4 from Boston so no street racing necessary. Damn nice car I guess I need to get hot cams sooner than expected.

Gee Will, you're local to NH....
VSR makes an excellent center section.. not that I'm partial. 8)

Borla Mufflers are awesome imho. Raven is to loud/heavy... Supersprint looks like crap again IMHO, and most others are wayyy to loud.

                          Nice buy!
                          Below the radar...
