I entered myself into an auto-x championship this Sunday for kicks, where I had planned to just run my qualifying sessions and leave. I ended up qualifying 4th out of over 60 cars (including scary STi's, Mustangs, MR2's, S2Ks, etc), directy behind the legend himself Randy Sparre (piloting his GF's E30 on R-comps). I haven't really done an auto-x since 2004, which was my first year ever (and I've never seen a track at all).
In the end I finished 3rd overall and 1st in class. First and second were a bone stock Cobalt SS and a slightly modded S2000, respectively. Both were VERY seasoned drivers, so I felt in no way ashamed. I also managed this on Falken ZE-512 all-seasons, so the next time someone bad-mouths these tires remember how much I've defended and stuck with them.
Anyways, enough talk. Here's some shots of the car after a well-deserved wash:

I might be able to get some action shots later, gotta see if the spectators at the event will post some somewhere.
