1988 325i coupe with s54 swap

    so since my last post I pulled the motor out ripped it apart to see what is the problem... didn't like what I saw. all the sleeves where glazed with some scoring to go with it.:( at first all the bearings looked really good until I got to number 5 it is not horrific but you can see more wear on it than the others upon further inspection we found the rod and cap don't seat properly like it should being a cracked rod as they call it. I also had the pistons measured to see if we can reuse the but all of them are out of specs as well as the small end bushes.

    I forgot to take some pics will do so when I get to it again.

    I decided to go forged gonna get me some wossner pistons 87.5mm 12.5 compression ratio H-beam rods all new bearings, ARP bolts and a rebore and freshen up the head as well, hopefully all will be well then and get it sorted properly.

    its an expensive rebuild for me but I figured rather do it right the first time.
