VERY nice e36. Love the color. Great purchase. And a perfect base for a swap :) I know a lot about e36s (replied to your other thread) so feel free to ping me if ever you have questions.
Reminds me... I need to update the thread in the projects section
Thank you! I was really surprised when I saw it in person. It looked good in the ad pics but man it was nearly immaculate in real life. The color has grown on me this past year. It’s actually quite dynamic and changes hues depending on lighting.
Thanks for the offer to help. I’m sure I’ll need it soon. ;)

Some German really took care of that car. Listen to an old man, the German TUV does not play ! I doubt the Depo kit is TUV approved. The lights that the German cars came with are not the US junk, do a search for upgraded bulbs. I do agree that better lighting is safer. I have driven those roads at night and it is serious dark.
It’s had a recent TUV inspection and is good until September 2019. I would keep the old housings to throw back in when it comes time for another inspection. And the depo housings themselves are TUV approved...not sure about the FX-R projectors but I’m sure they would perform remarkably well and within guidelines. Just upgrading the bulbs wouldnt be enough for me. And in reality there’s not much more you can do with halogens other than up the voltage but then you risk burning up bulbs faster and maybe even the reflector bowls.

Im having a hard enough time trying to convince her to let me buy some DEPO ellips and put the TRS E36 FX-R projector retrofit kit in them...about $475 for baller ass headlights isnt too much to ask, is it?
Dude. Better lighting is SAFER. Does she not want you to be SAFER?
Beautiful car dude, looking forward to see where this goes!
Thanks man! I cant imagine it will be too exciting for a while since it will just be my daily until i can convince the girly to let me swap it. Making a build thread for my E36 to keep track of things as they happen...
I recently picked up a 1998 318i in Fjordgrau Metallic with the Exclusive Package and Style 34 (lightweight) wheels. The car has been very well maintained at 150,xxx KM (about 93,000 miles). The previous two owners only had it serviced at BMW and never missed an interval. The M43 is quite underpowered but runs silky smooth and doesn’t leak a drop of anything which is, from what ive read, very rare. Getrag is smooth as well, no grinds and clutch is easy yet grabby. The body is straight as an arrow and the interior is mint. Looks as though the rear seats have never been sat on at all. Fronts are heated and in excellent condition. Lots of other nice options as well like an adjustable steering wheel and ASC. Here‘s a build/options list, in German of course...:hitler:
