IMO both are very different in overall looks. The early db's look more old school to me and have a more "classic" look and style, where the pb's look more modern (especially the techs).
I dunno why people dislike early bumpers so much, if your gonna drive an old (respectively) car anyway then why not have the style and design of the old cars.

It's the poor man's bling.

I prefer the shiny, aluminum bumpers. They are rated much stronger. Rated twice the impact resistance as plastic bumpers. Besides, It's the original e30 look!
It's the "poor man's bling"... why not keep it? :)
