Btw, were you able to fit the E36 M3 front swaybar on yours?
There was a post a while back in the 325iX section were you wanted to give it a try? I've found a E36 M3 bar for just 30€ with rubber bushings and linkages.
I might give it a shot myself.

6k elevation? Dang that's higher than SLC. Great work. Turbo m20 is sick

end of 2018, exciting thing for 2019
Hey everyone, I haven't updated the thread in quite some time. Got the car driving a couple weeks ago. Need to get the car up to a friend soon so he can do a good amount of fab/ repairs for the car. All you iXer's keep an eye on my thread for some really really exciting things. :)
Pulled the trans a week in because I have noise and I thought it was flywheel related but it wasn't (I think it may be the Finland fix). Of course, I forgot to reinstall the starter plate so I have to remove the trans again... Waiting on a clutch alignment tool because last time I did it with a universal and I didn't like it as much.
Then I had to remove the head because I broke a rocker arm, went ahead and installed arp headstuds torque at 25,50, finally 70ft/lbs wired up the podi oil temp and pressure. Still need to wire the innovate LC2 wideband.
Going to try to get the car running on MS2 soon so I can make use of this stuff, Just a cx2 mani and 3" DP with a BorgWarner 58/60 t04e13 comp and a garret mi .63 ar hot side so should spool well enough. came with a 38mm tial wastegate with closed dump which will be great for the power I want.
My old iX weaves made it on an incredibly nice iX touring so I'm happy about that, to say the least
Got some 17x8 et35 Compomotive th1781's and had some 215/45 summers and winters. rear fenders rolled with 20mm spacer and front have a 5mm, ride height is like 12.5" which I'd like to change but don't mind having the ground clearance, reduced axle angle, and bump steer.
SO plans for the next few months are, upgrade steering, boost. which are things I've been longing for quite some time? Thanks for all the positive feedback on the car, means a lot!
For the turbo part of the build, I want to fabric-cobble a 2.75" exhaust or 3" so I'm going to pick up a 120v mig and give it a shot.
My turbo parts list follows:
BW 58/60 T04e13 with DEI turbo blanket
4an feed from oil pressure switch location
10an drain to oil pan or maybe block if I decide to do rod bearings/ cutring gasket
CX Manifold (yes I know its a pos but I dont want to shell out money for a manifold until I decide if I want to go with a t3 open or t4 divided$$)
CX 3" DP
38mm Tial wastegate
50mm Tial BOV
Hallman pro boost controller
GM IAT sensor
Ms2 by Sssquid has 6 coils, 2.5 bar map sensor, I think I can do wasted COP?
M50 variable TPS
NGK BPR7ES
27"x9"x2.5" Ebay Intercooler & 2.5" charge pipes
TRE 60LB Siemens Deka IV, EV1 & 255 LPH pump
Stock VC fan with shroud and a Spal 16" pusher
Stock oil cooler, idk if it will clear manifold?
Sounds like an oil filter inline for the turbo wouldn't be a bad idea...
Also the turbo I'm getting has shaft play, thinking I can just get a T04e rebuild kit for a garret or something.. Its a thrust bearing so I should be able to rebuild it. Also have to figure out the catch can/ crankcase vent thing.
Initial goal is ~260awhp at 6k elevation on 8-11 psi stock head gasket without cutring. That’s all thanks for viewing!Last edited by Chrisbike; 12-24-2018, 01:23 AM.

More Progress
Recently got the m20 back in with the trans attached, poly bushings installed... I now have a UUC e34 m5 flywheel and fx400 clutch kit (motivation for boost) I ordered a short CAE adjustable dssr from Hard Motorsport 160mm-220mm (I need around a 200-210mm rod to mount my RTD shifter so it is pointing straight up in neutral and not cut the center console for a cleaner look. Unfortunately, it's back ordered... Strut Housings are getting welded up by a friend that happens to have a badass iX (to be s54).

Next thing after that will be deciding if ITB's are something I finetune in the winter and the summer. They are tricky to deal with but I want to make that happen. Boost will come. Its just a ton of money since I am not a fabricator and maybe I'll build my own. This is just an idea that I'd like to make come to fruition and I wouldn't mind learning on the way but truthfully I don't care how it gets done, I just want it boosted properly.

If you're going MS2, are you planning on eventually just getting an M52 or something?
Excited for progress. It keeps me motivated... can't take my mind off that ACS apron.
