Bought it in such condition a year ago or so.
Wasn't bad or good I would say. Just an average condition for such old car.

Instantly get rid of all M badges, installed chrome noses and white turn signals.

Then I've installed both bonnet and boot trims.




And bought BC coilover set. Previous suspension set up was awful.

Now I am working on 5x120 conversion keeping original e30 wheel fitments + brake upgrade to e30 m3 specs.

As another member from Finland has already done rear m3 e30 brake conversion on his track car, but only on 4x100 setup.



The setup is m3 e30 or e32 rear caliper + m3 e30 rear bracket + rear brake disc from e36. That in case, if you are looking to keep 4x100 setup.

But I am willing to switch to 5x120, so I decided to go with rear e36 hub, but slightly modified. Shiny one is new e36 hub. Photos are not mine,but I did the same.





So, after some fabrication job we will end up in identical to e30 hub,that is ready for installation.

What about front 5x120 setup...
Such sleeves could be used to install e36 front hubs.


But adapters for brakes needed and wheel is more out, than standart for e30 front. That not what I really want, because I like whels with good wide lips.

As long as I know and had a 280mm brakes on front on 4x100 setups without any adapters. Just plug and play keeping original ET.
Old vw corrado front 280mm brake discs were used.


M3 e30 front brake disc specs.


As long as caliper used in corrado 280mm conversion is made to use for 25mm thick discs, m3 disc would fit as well.
The conclusion is - need to calculate and fabricate such sleeves in order to fit e36 front hub in original e30 hub position to allign m3 brake disc with used calipers. So far I am here. Cold winter is coming, so I will be diassembling front struts and trying to complete 5x120 setup in such variation.

Engine is already out and sold.
Was m20b30 stroker built based on m57d30 crankshaft.
All engine managment was from m50, including maf and coils.
Next week a new engine will take it place under the bonnet.

Also had time to refinish style 5 wheels before new year.
They were in similar cosmetical condition like in first photo, just not curbed and without any serious defects taking their age into consideration.
Had to buy 5 sets of style 5 to collect 5 decent wheels for myself. Very hard to find good ones theese days.
Center hexes weren't in perfect condition as well.

All wheels were stripped from old paint and painted. New oem center emblems.
Took a lot of time to refinish center hexes as long as they are plastic. Didn't want to do useless job spraying it from ordinary spray can. Sanded till bare plastic and painted with plastic specific paint.
Very happy with final result.
