    Ellipsoids + City Lights

So I finally got around to install my US ellipsoids now that I am selling the car. I figured I might as well wire up some city lights while I was at it. Sorry about the quality I havent yet invested in a camera.

These are yellow LEDs that match the amber turns and side markers quite well.

    Installing.

    Lights on.

    Lights off.

    Off again.

    The darkness.

    Pretty cool I guess.

I think that is pretty sweet. One question, does it affect your high beams at all?

No it doesn't affect the highs at all, but you can't really see the yellow when they are on.
I was thinking about wiring them into my turn signals also so they blink independently in sync with the side markers. Would this be lame?

Yeah I thought it might be kind of corny to make them blink thats why I didn't go ahead with it. They turned out pretty good though eh?

Good effort, but I think putting city lights in the highbeams is lame. It's your car though, so as long as you like them.

Well I would put them in the lows too if I could figure it out then I would be twice as cool as you. Right? :p Or if I wasn't a poor college student and had money hanging out my ass I could go get some real ones. Hey at least they are better then my sealed beams right?

I have been wanting to do this for a long time but didn't know how to approach it. What color did you do yours?

Has anyone fitted city lights to the lows?

Yeah... ever since the bend meet! Yeah it would be just as easy to fit them in the lows, just use the same ventilator hole. Mine were white LED's with a yellow cap, so they looked just a little blueish.

Does the ventilator go all the way through the reflectors on the lows? I cut off the tip and used the vent as a mount.
