    love this stuff.....

I don't know about you guys, but I love working on the E30 with my buds! Sure, there's always something that goes wrong, but in the end, it's so satisfying knowing that you've NOT paid the stealership tons of money to do something that you can do yourself. Bonus is you get to hang out with friends and do something you enjoy.

The weather was a gorgeous 70* or so degrees today and Alecs' and I finished replacing the timing belt and tensioner, water pump, the v-belts, about 4 coolant hoses, coolant flush, d/cap and rotor, plugs, and plug wires. Did some cleaning while the stuff was out and repainted a few minor parts, and dammit it just feels good to have it done. She is running so much better and smoother now too. Unfortunately I forgot to take after pics, but I'll get some later for ya.

I'm going to wait to do the rest of the hoses until we rebuild the motor next Spring. There will be many many things replaced at that time, and I can't wait.

    A few pics:

Bobby, your car's condition makes me sick.

      That is all.

Where did you get those fender mats?

And I agree, I fucking LOVE working on my car. I never want to get started, but once I do, I always have a good time.

Ain't that the truth? I always dread the job, but as soon as I get started, I enjoy the hell out of it. It will help too when it's not my DD anymore, and I'm not rushed to finish jobs on it.

The mats I found on Ebay a couple years ago, the were NOS.

That's why I'm stoked about all the work I'm doing on my car this winter. I've got a car to drive for the winter, so the E30 is laid up in the garage, and I've got all the time I need until spring to get everything done. And it's a lot. :D

I was turning wrenches today also except I was working on an Impala SS on 24" spinna's. It was scarey. I was doing plugs and wires. The one wheel weighed as much as two of my 15" weaves.

Oh you ought to invest in some coveralls they are pretty cheap and very functional.

I feel the same way. I love the fact that I work on my own car and I know exactly what was done and how it was done.

Car looks great btw. Thoes fender covers are hot.

Amen to that. i bought my e30 with a broken timing belt, and I had never changed the oil on any car. most i had done was changing headlights and air filters. get a bentley, start trying shit out and asking questions.
