IMO elips and hids are as important as having good brakes on your car. to me they are not a "how it looks" mod, more so one for safety. ask JJe30 im sure he will never drive anything with a sealed beam again, and after we get the HIDs in those will be the first step to any car.

Lol, you must have shitty bulbs in those H4s, because Mystikal has those and they light up the road nice with HID's in there. Sealed beams are fine, if you're driving a horse and buggy, gives as much light as a candle lantern.

FYI, I do a shit-tonne of night driving, and the HID's are the best $200 I ever spent.

Come on guys, sealed beams are not that bad. You think the US govt and all their federalization bullshit would let them into production if they were actually unsafe? Ill give you that they suck, but theyre not unsafe.

$400 on HID is not going to be a huge improvement over those nice euro ellips. it would be much better spent towards springs/shocks/paint.

people keep complaining about sealed beams, try to drive a car at night with non halagen sealed beams.

^^But those above average drivers need to see more for their more aggressive driving.

If you consider yourself a REALLY good driver try driving at night with no lights. Then you can call yourself a pimp.

                        I'm a pimp then.

In all seriousness, I can't beleive I drove on sealed beams for so long.

Sealed beams are not that bad... seriously... e30's are lucky to have sealed beams as their worst option for headlights.

Lucky? What could possibly be worse than sealed beams? A flashlight taped to the hood?

"unsafe" is subjective. Sealed beams do suck, though. The thing that gets me is that every other country in the world uses e-codes or a variation thereof. The US won't let the wonderful e-codes in and mandates a lesser standard. WTF?

BTW, our lighting regulations in this country are still behind the times. E-code lights are still an upgrade to new cars to this day.
