    xmas comes early...

hi guys... managed to grab ol'Santa for a few days to do a little upgrade on my 30...
..as she was born a 2.0 with rear drum brakes.. i thought i shud do her some justice and spruce her up a little for the long term...
..so held a gun to santa and he gave me my engine block & rear disc set up...
    ..we managed to get a relatively healthy iX block (from all places, japan!!); and basically had to switched the oil sump with over from a standard eta block;
and openin the head for an overhaul shows it to be relatively healthy & clean..(oh those japs...)
So here started the simple 1st stage mod in preparation for further plans when the manual g/box set up finally comes together.....
some pics of the rear brake change..

    to:

    the Ol exhausted m20...

    And stripped:

    the head-job:

a bit of a (Black) head shine... (used hi-temp matt w/corrugated finish)

re-chipped the ecu... (gonna git some dyno charts so see the gains, if any):

MEanwhile.. i was using a bro's white manual 320... i LOV manuals!

    the finished product... *SLUrrp*

who sez shady lookin workshops cant do good jobs...dats my 20 lit engine lonely at the corner
    :drink:

all in santa's worshop for 6&1/2 days...to get a happy eta :pimp: ...

    :p

Ok, you must give us more pics/info on your rear trailing arm/brake swap...

What did you have to do with the brake lines etc ?

                    Your motor looks fuzzy. 8-)

Nice work. I hope you swapped tranny's. Did you swap in an I motor?

The motor itself looks good but why didnt you give the rest of the bay a little more care? A lot of things could have used a touch-up while you had the engine out. But still nice work, should be a fun motor.
