    Scored a new rear wing/spoiler

Well not really a pic of my car but its pics of a part that will eventually find its way onto my car . :D

Finally convinced this local guy to unload his Zender M3 style rear wing with adjustable Gurney flap to me .

Its been on the rear of a lame completely stock eta 4-door for years , probably since the late eighties .
Been trying to get this guy to sell it to me for about 2 years now .

Oh and this is why the douchebag finally let it go :

Hey thats my white car in the background so I guess technically this thread can stay here . :D

He's a douchebag because he finally decided to give me the wing after he wrecked his car .
I'm giving him a used ft valance, side grill, kidey, "is" rear spoiler, and filling the trunk holes and painting the trunk .
As well as installing the ft valance and doing some of the work on the front .

Don't get too worked up about the red painted flap , it will be black soon enough .
Might even try to get a bigger flap made in CF to please the F&F ricer inside of me . :D

Speaking of ....does anyone offer those CF flaps already ?
I've seen plenty of them on M3's and also there was that one for sale recently .
Good thing I didn't splurge on that one . :nice:

Thanks for the support guys .

Well I'm defintely NOT going with a 80's racer style on this car ...but maybe on my primered eta in the background .

This Zender Evo wing is going to be mounted on just one of the 3 trunklids that I'll have for this car .
One lid will have the stock holes for my M-Tech-I spoiler and the last lid will be smooth with no provisions for a spoiler .
Just so I can mix up the look depending on my mood or the event .

Wayfast : Thanks for the link man .
Now I just need to find out if those M3 flaps are the same size and intercjangeable with the Zender Evo's .
I'll just have to compare it with one of my M3 friends' lip .

Mikey : Yeah this guy is just repairing his car back the way it was .
Don't worry too much about the emblems ...the car has had several bad color changes throughout the years .
Hell I changed the color from an ugly blue to this OE red earlier this year .
Guess my guys shafted him on the emblem placement . :D

I don't think it would be every hard to cut down a CF gurny flap if it is too wide...

Took the opportunity to compare the Zender Evo to a regular M3 wing .

Widest part of the Zender measured 51" 3/8 versus 52" 5/8 for the M3 .

Heres the OE M3 wing on the regular E30 :

The mounting studs are sticking halfway over the trunk lid on both sides .
No workee . Well at least not without a bit of work .

Heres the Zender on an M3 :

Actually looks pretty decent on there .
Then again just painting that flap black really made a world of difference too .
Its still slightly narrower than the M's mounting holes :

As far as cutting one of those CF flaps , I don't think so .
Did you see how much those things sell for ?

Now if I make one myself that would be another story ...or I guess I could get one made localy .

Oh yeah I'm glad that this opportunity came along when it did as I'm watching a used Zender on eBay right now thats already over $500 and theres still 5 days left .

Hey , I'm just trying to keep up with Trent .
                        Hahaha . :D

                        Luke , those wheels are 18x8 Zenetti's :

                        I actualle HATE them .
Have several sets of wheels for the car once I start driving it .

Once I went to these totally awesome 318i brake set-up it really narrowed down what would fit without the use of spacers .
Those are basically just on there for now since they clear without anything .

My daily's will be alternated between a 18" set of OZ Monte Carlo's and a full set of rear 17x8.5 DSII's .
Also have a set of staggered DSII's that I'm going to paint really wild looking for track/auto-x days .

                          Well I will be damned

I might have a zender knock-off wing then since mine barely fits the edge of the trunk but definitely does not go over. It isnt a m3 wing, but I dont think it is a real zender either. How is that flap mounted to the wing~ my wing looks exactly the same but it seems like your flap is bolted to the underside or something? Could you give me a pic of the bottom side of the wing? I want to make a custom flap for mine since it looks so tits.

Quint , I would not be so quick to say that you have a Zender knock-off .
Hell back in the day all of the main tuners in Germany offered their own version of the M3 wing for non-M's .
Could be any of theirs or a cheaper knock-off .

Heres how close the moounting holes are to the edge of the trunk :

As far as the Gurney flap goes , the wing is recessed underneath and has 2 different positions for the mounting bolts .
The flap is slotted for its adjustments .
You can see how it is attached to the wing in my 3rd pic in the original post .
Also heres a close up :

In that pic you can clearly see the Zender name , its on the leading edge of the passengers side .

ATTENTION : Hey while we are on the subject , if anyone is interested I have several rear wings for sale at this time :

If anyone is interested in any of those pictured, minus the Zender of course, feel free to post or Pm me .
I'll eventually get around to starting a FS thrread as I have plenty of stuff to unload .

                            Wings pictured are :
Stock "is" rear spoiler (several avail)
E28 -Tech-I rear wing (fits fine just need new mounting holes)
Pfeba foam/rubber rear wing (exaggerated version of the stock "is" piece)

Mine has no zender or any badging on it~ just fiberglass.

My holes are in the same position though~
