Thanks for the pics. When I put the car on the lift Thursday for the rear ARB bar install I'm gonna tuck the rear (the front was done by the PO)
I like the look of the bumpers painted body color with the impact strips black. I've got a small paint booth in my basement so that is on my list as well.

What brand was the primer? Can you list the steps you took in order? Not sure if you're supposed to remove the bumper and paint them, paint them before you tuck them, etc. I appreciate the details; I want mine exactly like yours.

remove the bumpers, dont remember the brand of etching primer, any brand as long as its "self etching" will do, sand the bumpers very well i used 400 grit, you could go a bit more coarse if you wanted, clean the bumpers with rubbing alcohol, spray 2-3 coats of primer, and the 3-4 coats of paint, and voila!

Here's my E30 last year with tucked and painted diving boards. The huge oil stains on the driveway are not from my car. :D

I definately like the newer bumps, then I'd go euro, after that I'd say leave as is for safety reasons but I must say yours do look awesome.

Why doesnt someone get there thinking cap on and build a shock that would still be functional/provide the safety while at the same time tucking them in....is this possible?

I think tucking bumpers with air dams are awesome. Made my front look ver slick.

                                Here's mine.
