before you take all the newpaper off, make sure you hit the pillars between the windows so it matches!

              ps, where is Newtown located?

oh so true.. and if you have pop-out windows dont forget the chrome button on the outside of the window.

Dont need winter wheels on the e36.. There is never going to be another sizeable snowfall in the northeast. My b-caps are still sitting in the barn.

its not hard to take it off and then you can clean behind places really good.

I have trouble getting them back on and stayin on. I've already seen two pieces fly off going down the road, one off mine and one off my roomate's car.

Okay fellas here is tha final result...It turned out great. Black trim FTMFW.

In response to why it took me so long, all I can say is that I am not an experienced painter- laying down the tape to perfection took some time to say the least, as did the sanding. I am a perfectionist so I dont mind taking my time.

There was a thread started by RCWells that showed him doing the shadowline process with the trim off the car and it scared tha hell outta me. I did not want to deal with broken clips and with issues getting the trim back on the car. With that said I am sure his final result was better since all the prepping and painting was done off the car, but my iX is far from perfect anyway so fock it.

My iX is unhappy with the lack of snow here in tha northeast:(

Awesome, good job man... I put shadowline too on my car when I got it repainted... looks great... a bit more modern if you will, not a classical look with the outdated chrome. :)
