    Call me crazy, but did you by any chance sell it to a guy that lives here in Bend, Oregon? Tim at German Master Tech had a black E28 M5 parked in front of the shop about 6-8 months to a year ago, and said it was being sold to some local kid, and it was from Washington.

    I passed up one for $8900 about a year ago.... rebuilt engine, B+B triflow, Bilsteins etc... I hate myself

    Yeah, there's just something about an M5. You can't beat having room to seat four comfortably and the power to embarass almost anything from the era in which it was built. If I could get any BMW I'd have an e39 M5. I work on a lot of them at work and have always enjoyed driving them. I almost bought one but I need a truck type vehicle for all the outdoor activities I do as well as towing so I bought an 07 FJ Cruiser instead. I'll have one someday though.

    just saw one of those, possibly the same car, at the lincoln city outlet mall on the oregon coast, I think it was dec. 26th or 27th. I stood in the rain for a good ten minutes checking it out, my girlfriend was pissed. (we had no umbrella).

    I used to think the E28s were ugly cars, but the more M5s (and tastefully modified E28s) I see, the more I like them. They're hard to find in my area, and I've never driven one, but I think it'd be a cool car to own.

    That sucks about selling it. Who knows--maybe one day you'll buy it back.
