Oh you bet, red's my favorite color ;)

I had to grab a phone call and Jenny thought she wanted to try pressure washing.

I'm cracking the engine and tranny apart Tuesday, so the starter hole isn't an issue. I noticed the exhaust ports were open right after that pic, hopefully I plugged them in time. They're coming off anyway for a few coats of exhaust paint, I'll inspect at that time.

Haha yeah Curt. I wish my engine was as clean as yours, then it'd match my tranny.

I'm happy to hear you got everything in, hopefully I'll be able to drop mine in sometime this week. I feel stupid for even comparing our projects though, for obvious reasons :)

i dont think anything got hurt. i thought i saw a new clutch laying around in one of the pics so the starter hole wont do any harm and unless theres some new water that i dont know about... the stuff obeys gravity. so im sure it didnt get all up into the head at all. and if it did... oil change FTW and its fixed. which im sure itll get anyway.

Nice looking car. These cabrio's are way too cheap. I can't understand why.

I went to look at one a couple of years ago. I called they guy, and told him when I'd be out to look at it. He was having trouble getting it started so he swapped batteries from his other vehicle. The posts were too high and put upward dings in the hood when he shut it. He left the hood closed, and by the time i got there current had passed between the posts of the battery and he burnt up his electrical system!

Wow, it sure has been a while since I've updated this. After pulling the engine and tranny then letting the car sit for 8 months, Joe Funk offered to put both back in for a good deal. I got the car back two months ago, running like a champ (thanks Joe & Chris!).

I had a few little issues related to letting the car sit for so long, but I've got most of them worked out. Now the only issues left to resolve are a dead coolant level sensor, dead light indicators on the check panel (though the bulbs are all fine), a brake lining light (thought the brakes and sensors are fine), and the replacement of the cracked and broken tail light lenses. Everything else such as the front lip, fogs, etc. can wait, I want to drive this thing! (I've had it over two years now and driven it twice).

As you guys will remember, the DP wheels on this thing were in horrible condition. Since I've heard they're rare, very period correct, and were pretty cool at the time, I decided to refinish them. I also scored a killer deal on some Goodyear Eagle F1's. Yesterday I got the tires mounted and balanced, then bolted them back on. For the first time in years, the car has matching wheels and tires :D

This is my first time seeing this thread so all I see is a pile of red X's on your first post. Looks like a nice find though.

I remember what the car looked like when you got it. It has really come a long way and is looking good.
